Presentation

Falling down.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female

Right wrist

x-ray

No evidence of bony injury could be seen.

Radial bowing of the distal radius is noted, with widening of the interosseous space.

Dorsal subluxation of the distal ulna and positive ulnar variance is also noted.

Medial downward sloping of the radius metaphyses with wedging of the proximal carpal row forming "V" shape with proximal herniation of the lunate bone-forming its apex.

Case Discussion

This is a 15-year old girl presenting after falling down, an x-ray of the right wrist was requested did not show any evidence of bone injury but features of Madelung deformity was seen.
