Preliminary images are unremarkable.
The fluoroscopic images taken upon bearing up and bearing down demonstrate:
- appropriate elevation in the anorectal angle on bearing up
- appropriate descent of the pelvic floor and anorectal junction on bearing down
The fluoroscopic images taken upon defecating demonstrate:
- small protrusion of the anterior rectal wall (anterior rectocoele)
- no prolapse or intussusception
The rectum emptied well with contrast seen only in the sigmoid colon and rectum on the post evacuation images.
Case Discussion
Defecating proctography demonstrates a small, non-obstructing anterior rectocoele in a male.
