Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the thigh

Presentation

Painless right upper thigh mass

Patient Data

Age: 65-year
Gender: Male
Modality: MRI

MRI demonstrate a well circumscribed soft tissue mass in the anterior compartment of the right thigh which is hyposignal on T1WI and hyper signal on T2WI,and shows irregular thick ring type contrast enhancement.There is no evidence of femural cortical invasion.

Case Discussion

He underwent surgery and the mass was resected and pathology confirmed Malignant fibrous histiocytoma.

Malignant fibrous histiocytomas (MFH) (which has more recently being classified as pleomorphic undifferentied sarcoma ) is considered the most common type of soft tissue sarcoma.
