Chest pain. Risk factors for coronary artery disease.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
  • malignant interarterial course of the right coronary artery (RCA), which arises from the left coronary cusp
  • the ostium of the RCA demonstrates severe stenosis
  • the MIP images demonstrate narrowing at the ostium with relatively normal caliber thereafter. Right dominant heart with the RCA continuing as the posterior descending artery (PDA)

Case Discussion

Any malignant coronary arterial course is an important diagnosis to pick as this can lead to severe consequences, most notably sudden cardiac death.
