Malunion in a spontaneously healed phalanx fracture

Presentation

History of finger and hand trauma some weeks ago.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Hand x-rays showing an old diaphysis fracture in the proximal phalanx of the second finger that spontaneously healed in a non-aligned way. There is also a foreign body located in the palmar soft tissue adjacent to the second metacarpal bone.

This case illustrates a case in which the patient looked for medical assistance weeks after his hand trauma, allowing the phalanx fracture to be spontaneously healed.
