Palpable mass lesion right breast at 08h00

Age: 60
Gender: Female
Mammography

Mammography did not reveal any definite lesion.

Ultrasound

A lesion with spiculated margins on ultrasound.

Case Discussion

Mammographically occult carcinoma right breast. 

The lesion was clearly palpable and obvious on clinical exam. Normal mammogram. What makes this case really exceptional is that there is no question this a is a fatty breast; there is no dense breast tissue to "hide" behind. The reference below is from the doyen of breast imaging, Dr Jan Hendriks.
