Right parasymphyseal mandibular fracture that is comminuted, that extends to the angle surface. Displaced fracture of the left mandibular angle, extending to the surface between 38 and 37.

There is a comminuted fracture of the mandible that is involving the right parasymphyseal area and the left angle. A vertical component of this fracture extends into the intercoronal space between the 41 and 42. The mental foramen is involved with the lateral portion of the fracture.
The left mandibular fracture is displaced laterally and anteriorly. The horizontal component of the fracture extends through the 37 alveolus.
Case Discussion
Fractures of the mandible as a result of assault are relatively common (50% of all mandibular fractures) contrary to popular belief fractures of the mandible that are uni-focal in nature account for almost 40% of cases.
