Presentation

Punch injury.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
  1. Displaced oblique fracture of the right mandibular angle extending into the alveolar process with associated displaced fracture of the mesial root of the 48 tooth.
  2. Minimally displaced oblique fracture of the left mandibular ramus extending into the coronoid process.

Case Discussion

Occasionally a mandibular fracture may traverse an alveolar process and fracture the associated dental root (dentoalveolar fracture).
