Foot pain 10 months ago.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years.
Gender: Female
x-ray

No fracture line could be detected.

T1 hypointense fracture line is seen at the neck of the first metatarsal neck associated with focal bone marrow edema.

Case Discussion

March fracture is a type of stress fracture occurring in the weight bearing bones of the lower limb and pelvis after minor repetitive trauma.

It doesn't appear in X-ray in the earlier stages.

MRI is the modality of choice for early diagnosis.
