Apex of the heart is cut...

Nuclear medicine

Apex of the heart is cut off on HLA & VLA

There is a large perfusion deficit on the polar maps as the apex of the heart was not included on stress images, and when corrected below correctly there was no perfusion deficit.

So important to recognize automated processing errors.

Reprocessed

Nuclear medicine

After correction and including the apex of the heart in post processing images.

Dilated cardiomyopathy with no perfusion deficit on stress and rest images.

Case Discussion

Very important to assess for errors in post processing as a lot of post processing is automated.

Once it was identified and fixed, the reading changed from a large reversible perfusion deficit at apex to no perfusion deficit.

Please see the key image for the main finding.
