Massive meningioma

Case contributed by Michael P Hartung
Diagnosis almost certain

Worsening headache.

Patient Data

Age: 85
Gender: Female

Very large calcified extra-axial, intracranial mass extending from the posterior right parietal calvarium. Mass effect on the adjacent parietal lobe with a small amount of surrounding edema. This results in leftward midline shift of approximately 6 mm.

Case Discussion

Very large calcified extra-axial mass. There is little surrounding edema in the brain parenchyma suggesting a very slow-growing, indolent process. This is most consistent with a meningioma.
