Incidental bony torus palatinus and bilateral maxillary tori.
Case Discussion
Maxillary tori are composed of densely mineralized bone usually devoid of a medullary cavity. They may project both inwards from the midline (torus palatinus) or inner surface of the alveolar bone (as shown in this case) or outwards from the alveolar bone.
Torus palatinus is a benign, frequently bilobulated bony exostosis that arises from the midline of the hard palate, protruding into the oral cavity. It is usually less than 2 cm. It becomes evident in early adulthood and has a prevalence of 2-3%. They rarely cause any problem though may make fitting dentures difficult.
