Well-defined expansile lytic lesion of the right maxilla. 

Modality: CT

Expansile lytic lesion in the right maxilla with thin surrounding sclerosis and internal soft tissue density. It extends into the right maxillary sinus.

The patient proceeded to operative treatment:

HISTOPATHOLOGY MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:

The section shows fragments of a cystic lesion. Part of the luminal epithelium has non specific features but part is typical of a keratocystic odontogenic tumour ie a thin squamous epithelium with cuboidal basal layer, palisaded basal nuclei and parakeratinised surface.

DIAGNOSIS: Right maxilla - keratocystic odontic tumour.
