Maxillary sinus lipoma

Case contributed by Dr Ruslan Esedov

Presentation

no symptoms

Patient Data

Age: 30
Gender: Male
CT

A polypoidal lesion along lateral wall of left maxillary sinus, with fat-attenuation.

Case Discussion

This case although closely resembles antral polyp or mucocele, CT attenuation favours a lipoma, which is a rare entity in paranasal sinuses. As it was incidental finding, no intervention was contemplated and diagnosis could not be confirmed histologically.
