Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

First study

ct

Hyperdense MCA seen in right Sylvian fissure representing MCA dot sign.

No parenchymal abnormality detected.

Second study after 10 days

ct

10 days later patient deteriorated and second study was done.

Now the ischemic infarction was obvious and confined to right MCA territory.

Case Discussion

MCA dot sign is one of earliest signs of thromboembolic occlusion of M2 segment of MCA, unfortunately it is an indicator of poor outcome.
