MCA stroke - evolution

Right sided weakness and aphasia 5 hours ago.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female


Modality: CT

There is loss of grey-white matter differentiation in the left insular and temporal regions. 

C+ CTB - same day

Modality: CT

Contrast accentuates the loss of grey-white matter differentiation in the left middle cerebral artery territory, and there appears to be hypoenhancement of an M2 branch. 

MRI (DWI) - next day

Modality: MRI

DWI obtained the next day confirms the large infarct. 

CT brain (8 weeks later)

Modality: CT
