Case Discussion

CT of the facial skeleton of a 40 year old woman demonstrates extensive bony expansion with areas of heterogeneous bone density ranging from sclerotic to lucent. The majority of affected bones demonstrate a ground-glass appearance.

Bone scan demonstrates extensive craniofacial uptake as well as involvement of a single right sided rib.

Features are consistent with  craniofacial fibrous dysplasia. Presence of rib involvement and acromegaly is consistent with the patient's known McCune-Albright syndrome.
