Patient with recurrent vague right lower quadrant abdominal pain, acutely aggravated in the last hours.

Dilated stool-filled blindly-ending loop of small bowel in the right lower quadrant with perifocal adipose tissue infiltration, representing inflammation. Multiple mesenteric lymph nodes noted. No significant amounts of free intraperitoneal air or fluid.

Case Discussion

Patient went to surgery, where the inflamed bowel was resected successfully. 
A contained perforated Meckel diverticulitis was confirmed both intrasurgically and histologically.
