Meckel diverticulum enterolithiasis

Right flank colic pain and history of renal stones.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

CT scan showing dilated blind-ended loop in right iliac fossa with presence of three radiopaque stones inside with radiolucent centers, ranging in size between 10-15 mm. 

Case Discussion

Enterolithiasis is an uncommon finding. Enteroliths are present in 3-10% of patients with Meckel diverticulum, with a 3:1 male to female ratio.

Complications of Meckel diverticulum enterolithiasis are uncommon and include hemorrhage, inflammation and intestinal obstruction.
