Presentation

Right lower quadrant pain and low grade fever.

Patient Data

Age: Middle aged
Gender: Male
Ultrasound

Bulbous anechoic structure seen in right lower quadrant.

 

Case Discussion

Again most likely diagnosis of appendicitis was made, however the lesion was very close to the midline and this was conveyed to the surgeon who rather than making the usual incision in RIF went from midline and found the infected, dilated Meckels diverticulum with a faecolith.
