Presentation

Collision of an object with the left eye and left orbital pain.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

There is a small dense foreign body with metallic artifact penetrated within the left orbital medial canthal region. Left side preseptal and lacrimal gland soft tissue swelling and right eye exodeviation are noted.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT of a metallic foreign body penetrated within the left side medial canthus which is a relatively rare case. The medial canthus is an important anatomic region for the stability and integrity of the function of the eyelids and lacrimal sac.
