Case Discussion

Sesamoiditis is an inflammatory condition involving the sesamoid bones, usually a diagnosis of exclusion once other causes for sesamoid pain have been excluded. In the recent case despite the fact that the fat suppression images showed inhomogeneity, the clinical exam was inclined to sesamoiditis because of pain over the plantar aspect of the first metatarsal head.
