Thickened medial patellar synovial plica with a partial thickness chondral fissure of the adjacent medial patellar facet.
Remainder of the study is normal.
Case Discussion
Thickened medial patellar synovial plica are commonly asymptomatic but a good clue on MRI as to whether they are symptomatic is chondromalacia or the adjacent medial patellar facet. In this case, there is no alternative explanation for medial knee pain.
