Median nerve schwannoma

Presentation

Tingling in the hand.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
mri

Inseparable from the median nerve, just proximal to the carpal tunnel, is an oval-shaped mass that is T2 high signal and T1 intermediate-to-low signal with vivid, homogeneous post-contrast enhancement.

Normal ulnar nerve. 

Case Discussion

The patient proceeded to resection of the mass and median nerve repair, which confirmed a schwannoma.
