Patient Data
There is a 4th ventricle hyperattenuating mass with homogeneous contrast enhancement and leading to supratentorial hydrocephalus.
MRI Brain showing the 4th ventricle solid mass that seems to arise from the cerebellar vermis, with low signal on T1, high signal on T2 and FLAIR, and vivid contrast enhancement. There is supratentorial hydrocephalus.
Case Discussion
Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant central nervous system tumour in paediatric patients and the most common primary tumour in the posterior fossa in children; most manifest in patients 5-12 years of age. Clinical features are mainly characterised by intracranial hypertension and ataxia.
This case was confirmed by histology.
