This either represents an arachnoid cyst of mega cisterna magna; distinguishing between the two can be difficult. 

Mega cisterna magna is a benign variant of development in the cistern is enlarged, seen in 1-3% of the population. Since it communicates with the subarachnoid space, is not associated with hydrocephalus
