Plain radiograph right wrist showed sclerosis of distal ulna involving one side with characteristic “dripping candle wax pattern”.

Case Discussion

A 35-year-old male attended the Orthopedics Department with right wrist pain after a minor trauma. He was previously fit and well with no pre-existing problems. On examination, the right wrist was locally tender.

The X-ray showed no acute bony injury.  However, distal ulna showing incidental focal hyperostosis,  The radiographical features were typical of melorheostosis
