Cortical-based focal areas of sclerosis are seen in the distal phalanx of the right middle finger, the proximal phalanx of the left index finger and the base of the middle phalanx of the left ring finger.
In addition, degenerative changes as joint space narrowing, subchondral sclerosis and irregularity and osteophyte formation are seen in the left thumb interphalangeal joint.
Case Discussion
Features are most consistent with melorheostosis, an uncommon mesenchymal dysplasia manifesting as regions of sclerosing bone with a characteristic dripping wax appearance.
