Case Discussion
The patient went on to have a resection.
Histology
MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:
The sections show a densely hypercellular meningioma. This has a predominant fibroblastic architecture. Tumor cells show mild nuclear and cellular pleomorphism. Scattered mitotic figures are identified (3 in 20 high power fields). No areas of necrosis are identified. There is no brain invasion. Broad dural attachment is noted. Dural margins are clear of tumor.
DIAGNOSIS: Meningioma (WHO Grade I).
