Meningioma - clivus

Patient Data

Age: Adult
mri

A large mass arises from the surface of the clivus and extends into the left internal acoustic meatus. It is isointense to grey matter on both T1 and T2 sequences and demonstrates vivid contrast enhancement. It displaces the basilar artery and distorts the brain stem and results in moderate hydrocephalus. No bony invasion. 

Case Discussion

The patient went on to have a craniotomy and excision of the mass. Histology confirmed the diagnosis of a WHO grade I meningioma
