Meningioma - frontal

Case contributed by Ammar Haouimi

Late-onset epilepsy.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

Well-circumscribed broad-based left frontal extra-axial mass (measuring 35 x 32 x 24 mm), isointense to the cortical grey matter on both T1, T2, and hypointense on FLAIR with intralesional calcification of low signal on GE and hyperostosis of the adjacent cranial vault. Vivid homogeneous enhancement on post-contrast sequences with a dural tail sign. No surrounding vasogenic edema or significant mass effect on the midline structures is seen. A "CSF cleft sign" around the mass on coronal T2, indicating the extra-axial location of the mass.

Small vessel ischemic changes are noted.
