Meniscal flap tear

Known osteoarthritis of the knee. Acute pain and effusion after minor trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

MRI shows a tear in the mid-portion of the medial meniscus with inferior displacement of its fragment between the capsule (menisco-tibial ligament) and the tibia. Pre-existing high-grade chondropathy in the medial femoro-tibial joint compartment and in the patello-femoral joint.
