Twist injury one month ago
Patient Data
Bone bruise seen in posterior aspect of lateral tibial plateau. Vertical oblique tear of posterior horn of lateral meniscus extending to superior articular surface. Reduced volume of posterior horn of medial meniscus with diffuse PD hyperintense signal within extending to inferior articular surface. Intact anterior cruciate ligament shows PD hyperintense signal throughout along the fibers.
Case Discussion
The tear involving posterior horn of lateral meniscus is a clearly demarcated one with no associated secondary meniscal degeneration. The complexity of the insult is depicted in the posterior horn of medial meniscus in the form of vagueness in the outline of injury, the loss of volume and the diffuse intrasubstance degeneration.
