Presentation
Polytrauma couple of years ago with resultant cervical myelomalacia. Sent for evaluation of both knees as part of rehabilitation.
Patient Data
Intrasubstance PD hyperintense signals seen in posterior horn of medial meniscus with both horizontal and vertical limbs. Vertical limbs extend to superior articular surface. Normal lateral meniscus, cruciates, collaterals, triple compartment articular cartilage with no significant joint effusion. Generalized decrease in volume of muscles visualized, likely due to the bedridden status of a cervical cord injury.
Case Discussion
Classic example of a complex tear of the posterior horn of medial meniscus with limbs in multiple planes.
