Presentation
Patient with unspecified abdominal pain
Patient Data

On axial series, a round hyperattenuating structure with internal gas-fluid level within the vaginal cavity. Following coronal and sagittal reconstructions, this is shown to represent a menstrual cup, with the uterine cervix superior to it.

Menstrual cup on a hand for size comparison.
Case Discussion
Incidental finding in an emergency CT. Patient reported unspecific abdominal pain.
The patient was using a menstrual cup, which is made of silicone. It is inserted into the vagina during menstruation to collect menses with the advantage of being reusable instead of a disposable device.
No other findings were reported on this study.
