Abdominal pain.
Patient Data
Smudging of the fat planes is seen surrounding the superior mesenteric vessels and their branches within the root of the small bowel mesentery, accompanied by several prominent mesenteric lymph- nodes.
A 20mm parapelvic cyst is noted at right kidney.
Mild degenerative changes as osteophytosis are seen at the lumbar spine.
Grade I spondylolisthesis of L5 on S1 is present with bilateral spondylolysis.
Case Discussion
Features on CT scan are most consistent with mesenteric panniculitis which is an uncommon idiopathic disorder characterized by chronic non-specific inflammation involving the adipose tissue of the bowel mesentery. Follow up in 6 months is needed.
