Mesonephric carcinoma of the cervix

The uterine cervix is thickened, heterogeneous, with slight hyperechoic, hypervascular, ovalar, well-defined tissue mass measuring 30x23 mm.
The patient underwent a Pap smear, which didn't show any abnormality. Then a biopsy was performed.

Histology report revealed mesonephric carcinoma of the cervix.
Case Discussion
Mesonephric carcinoma is a very rare historical type of cervical carcioma (~3%) arising from remnants of the mesonephric (Wolffian) ducts. PAP smear isn't usually enough to discover this type of cancer 1.
