Shorness of breath and left chest wall pain.



Case Discussion

Initially seen with shortness of breath.  Chest film shows a subtle pleural based mass.  3 months later, the chest film demonstrates rapid growth of the pleural mass with chest pain indicated chest wall involvement.  Moderate pleural effusion.

Calcified pleural plaques consistent with his previous asbestos exposure.

Patient refused further investigation or treatment.

Presumed diagnosis: mesothelioma
