Metacarpal fracture

Presentation

History of fall on right hand 2 weeks back, clinical examination: tenderness noted over metacarpal region of the right hand.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

X-ray shows displaced fracture at the ring and little finger metacarpal bases.

Early signs of new callus formation.

Soft tissue swelling is noted.

Case Discussion

Two weeks after the injury, closed reduction may not useful.
The surgical option is the most likely. 
The technique and method of surgery depends on the experience and vision of the orthopedic surgeon and according to the current situation.
