Metastatic and obstructing sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Work up for abdominal pain and progressive distention.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Increased wall thickness due to tumoral infiltration is present at the proximal of the sigmoid colon causing luminal narrowing and proximal bowel loop distention. Surrounding fat stranding and a few enlarged regional lymph nodes are also observed with SAD less than 15 mm.

Multiple nodules are seen at both lung fields less than 20 mm. Some of them show central cavitation. 

Multiple low enhancing masses are seen in the liver less than 95 mm. 

Several gallstones are seen less than 18 mm. 

Case Discussion

Sigmoid colon mass; pathology proved adenocarcinoma causing an obstruction, regional enlarged lymph nodes, hepatic and pulmonary metastases.
