Presents with solitary liver mass in segment 3, 9 months after a sigmoid colectomy for colonic adenocarcinoma (T3 N0 Mx)

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

Macroscopic appearance of solitary colorectal metastasis (blue ink is surgical margin). 

Low power histology of metastasis and adjacent liver parenchyma (bottom right of picture), separated by a band of dense fibrous tissue.

High power of adenocarcinoma show irregular tumor glands lined by malignant columnar epithelium with intraluminal karyorrhectic debris.
