Selected images from a CT of the chest demonstrate a number of parenchymal and pleural masses consistent with the patient's known metastatic malignant melanoma. The largest mass on the right demonstrates marked cavitation.

There are many causes of a pulmonary mass with cavitation which can conveniently be recalled using the mnemonic CAVITY
