Metatarsal stress fracture

Oblique lucency through the fourth metatarsal diaphysis. There is surrounding periosteal reaction.
No other fracture or dislocation.
Case Discussion
Further history obtained confirmed some low-level pain in this area, exacerbated by his training.
This was felt to represent a stress fracture with an acute injury rather than a healing fracture with callus.
