focal periosteal reaction at the second metatarsal mid-diaphysis more prominently on the medial aspect
subtle periosteal new bone on the medial aspect of the 4th metatarsal mid-diaphysis
no other abnormality



fracture of the 2nd metatarsal mid-diaphysis associated with bone marrow edema displaying a low on T1 and bright on T2 fat suppression sequences in the metatarsal as well as surrounding soft tissue edematous changes
bone marrow edema along with the 4th metatarsal

March fracture is a subtype of stress fracture that occurs secondary to repetitive minor trauma to a normal bone, classically the 2nd, and 4th metatarsals of the foot.
