Known case of methemoglobinemia.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female

Bilateral symmetrical increased T1-WI signal intensity in basal ganglia, involving caudate nuclei, putamina, as well as brainstem and periaqueductal gray matter.

No diffusion restriction is seen in the involved regions.

1 yr later MRI for FU

Follow up MRI 1 year later show the same changes.
