Wisdom teeth assessment.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

x-ray

Fully erupted third maxillary molars.  

Fully erupted third mandibular molars, which are small compared to the remainder of the dentition in keeping with microdontia. 

Absent 44 without alveolar ridge atrophy. Absent 35 with mild alveolar ridge atrophy. 

Case Discussion

Microdontia is where the teeth appear smaller than normal, most commonly affecting the maxillary lateral incisor and the third molars.
