Middle cerebral artery territory infarct

Right hemiparesis for two days.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Thrombosed left middle cerebral artery (hyperdense MCA sign) with acute ischemic infarct evident in the territory of this vessel involving the left fronto-temporo-occipital lobes and left basal ganglia. There is midline shift of approximately 15 mm towards the right side. Effacement of the left lateral ventricle and prominence of right lateral ventricle is noted. No intracranial hemorrhage
