Left middle finger pain and swelling following a dog bite.

Acute, non-displaced oblique fracture of the middle phalanx of the left middle finger. There is overlying soft tissue swelling.

Joint spaces are maintained.

Bone density is normal for age.

Case Discussion

This is a case of a middle phalanx fracture. The patient was treated with antibiotics and a splint for the left middle finger. Orthopedic follow-up in 3 weeks was recommended to evaluate fracture healing.
