small bowel loops are in the right hemi-abdomen consistent with intestinal malrotation
twisted mesentery representing a whirlpool sign
inverted SMA/SMV relationship
mild free fluid within the peritoneal cavity
Case Discussion
The CT features are suggestive of midgut volvulus in the background of intestinal malrotation.
