Presentation

The patient, who had a known history of gallstones, presented with right upper quadrant pain and jaundice.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
mri

Distended, thick-walled, hydropic gallbladder with obstructing calculus in the gallbladder neck and intrahepatic bile duct dilatation.

Case Discussion

Signs of acute calculous cholecystitis with maximal wall thickening and inflammation around the neck of the gallbladder. Dilated intrahepatic bile ducts as far the inflammatory mass and normal diameter common bile duct. These findings are compatible with Mirizzi syndrome. The patient was operated on and the diagnosis was confirmed. After the operation, bilirubin levels decreased.
